FAMILY

FAMILY
It is said that we are all related
Thirty two times removed & dated.
DNA now tells us our origin & place
In distant ancestry, colour and race.

To all those who show their race hatred
Beware lest you hate yourself in dread.
Your fear is unfounded, badly informed
Watch out lest your own castle be stormed.

There is no doubt that you would relish
Holidays in countries foreign like Polish.
Then come home and curse, saying ‘go home’,
Though in their home you are content to roam.

Is there no love lost between you and yours?
Surely rowing a boat together, sharing the oars?
When will you credit the power of difference
The human strength is in our inheritance.

DNA again will benefit from different parents
Parents as cousins bring no relative presents.
Rather the damning of carried similarity
Better by far to have difference and clarity.

Why would anyone deny the chance for DNA
To benefit completely from different roots of any
Change in ancestry to strengthen the bloodline
So be grateful for your neighbours washing line.

Whatever tongue they speak they are your fusion
And the country’s future for a stronger generation.
Don’t deny your neighbours who are just like you,
They fought our wars and love our country too.

Exercise your compassion and not misguided hate
Share and follow the same team over the garden gate
Nine times out of ten they give more than they take
Love them and they will love you for your and their sake.

  1. Thank you so very much, David, for a poem of Truth from the first Alpha to the last Omega.
Yes, there is so much misunderstanding between humans. The World has become a village but still we cling to our good or bad habits. When will we ever learn?
Why did we let our great world religions put so much hatred in our hearts, while they all pretend we ARE brothers and sisters? Was this then only one more lie they cared to spread around?
For those who are familiar with the Christian Gospel, isn’t the Parable of the Good Samaritan not more than sufficient to understand what Jesus was preaching?”Love thy fellowman as you ought to love yourself!”.
You are very right, David, to underline that we want the foreign holiday countries to welcome us and to be friendly, but then we add too quickly : “but we pay them for that!”.
How insulting is that remark that we would not care to hear related to ourselves!!

Exercise your compassion and not misguided hate
Share and follow the same team over the garden gate
Nine times out of ten they give more than they take
Love them and they will love you for your and their sake.

Yes, it is very true. Many of us have ONLY the compassion that does not disturb our daily lives. As usual we look superficially at the world problems and hope they will stay ” Very far from our beds”.(French expression meaning : we don’t want to loose sleep over our fellowmen’s problems.)

Thank you once more, David, my soul shivered reading your post while it reminded me how far I am from being a good world citizen.

Love and blessings to all those who will read your post and so much more for you.

    Eugene
