In the dark before the dawn
In the lull before the storm
In your own twilight norm
The pendulum pauses.

There is no swing to left or right
Where we enjoy a misted sight
Fair growing, gentle morning light
The pendulum pauses.

In meditative mind
Of concentration’s kind
Thoughts suspended find
The pendulum pauses.

Down the dale or up the hill
Walking, running, standing still
Nature’s gift, we breathe our fill
The pendulum pauses.

The dawn chorus herald’s the day
As the moon begins to fade away
And sun shows his first bright ray
The pendulum pauses.

As we swing to one extreme
From waking night or daytime dream
A moment of no time it seems
The pendulum pauses.

Opposites attracting – causing
Movement and opposing swing
The heart begins to sing
The pendulum pauses.

We move towards fulfilment
We have no opposite intent
We ascend to enlightenment
The pendulum rests.

This has been an interesting read – a pendulum’s pause.

Bravo.. thank you for such a beautiful poem … Needless to say that I will read it and read it over and over… till it becomes one with my soul .. for it is important for the Pendulum to pause and then to rest once in a while.

    Thank you so very much.
